I am a PhD candidate at the School of Information at the University of Michigan.
Currently I am working on my dissertation under the guidance of my advisor, Dr. Jeffrey K. MacKie-Mason. With the support of the Rackham Predoctoral Fellowship, I plan to complete and defend my dissertation in the summer of 2010. My dissertation committee members include my advisor, Dr. Yan Chen, Dr. Rahul Sami, and Dr. Nigel Melville.
I study the strategic behavior of individuals in information aggregation systems. Information systems are great tools for collecting and aggregating distributed information held by individuals. However, users of these systems may or may not have the right incentives to provide their information. Contribution costs time and effort, and some users of these systems may provide information that misleads others. How can we motivate people to share high quality information? I use multiple methods in my research: game theoretical modeling, statistical modeling and analysis, and human-subject laboratory experiments.
I am currently looking for a position in academia. If you are interested, here is my job package.
In my spare time, I enjoy playing tennis, badminton, and practicing Chinese calligraphy.
